The WILD Center belongs to us.
Wild
Ones now owns the entire Wild Ones Ecology
Center site, which will be called the Wild
Ones Institute for Learning and Development
or WILD Center.
Through the generosity of a very special
anonymous Wild Ones member, we will be able
to own the entire property nearly debt-free
by the time all the grant funds are received.
Donations for the remodeling are continuing to come in, and we're very grateful for everyone's support. We've also received several offers of carpentry help when we get to the point of actually doing the remodeling work. For the time being, we will have a staff member on site from 9 a.m. to noon, every Tuesday through Friday.
We haven't signed a contract for the remodeling work yet, but we will need some yard cleanup, so if you want to lend a hand, we'll be happy to put you to work. We've got some invasive species to remove (buckthorn, honeysuckle, wild parsnip, etc.), as well as lots of just plain weeds. We also have a number of donated and rescued plants that need to be heeled into the ground until we're ready for final placement in the demonstration gardens.
And we've put together a wish list for tools, equipment, and miscellaneous furnishings we'll need.
